Would you rather, beauty edition!

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I'd rather lose all my pallets and eyeshadows, because I don't own a lot of those.

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Never cut it again, obviously! Long hair is better than no hair, in my opinion. Especially for a girl!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I'd keep my cheeks as they are; pink!

4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup.

Clothes!

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick.

I think I have a black lipstick lying around here somewhere, so I'd use that one as an eyeliner!

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I can't really answer this one because I don't really prefer one of these since I barely use the brands, but I guess Mac?

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

One eyeshadow color, because I have one favorite color that I wear every day!

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

I already wear kind of summer-ish clothes in winter because I just can't stay away from my skirts and blouses, so obviously summer clothes in winter!

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

I guess dark, because if I wear a specific bright color nails I'd have to match it with my clothes and that would get on my nerves if I'd had to do that every day for a year.

10.  Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Eye product!

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail of a messy bun?

Messy bun!

12. Would you rather never be able to pain your nails again or never use lipgloss.

Never paint my nails again!

13. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Nail polish for sure!

Cute braided bun hairstyle!

Easy and fun way to add a little elegance to your everyday messy bun. I just played around a bit and came up with this hairstyle in which I used the left upper section of my hair to make a french braid, braiding it all the way to the end and the creating a messy bun with the rest of my hair, leaving out my bangs. I twisted the braid around the bun to hide the elastic and that's all there is to it! This hairstyle is possible with long hair, but also with shorter hair. My hair is slightly over shoulder-length!

5x Eatable Skincare!

Taking care of your skin isn't just about putting on the right moisturizer and cleaning with the right makeup removers and cleansers. The road to a clear and healthy skin consists of many more different steps and ways, and I will go through all of these steps with you guys through this blog. One of the steps to a healthy skin is eating and drinking certain fruits and vegetables!

Basically, what these fruits, or rather the antioxidants that they carry do for your skin is repairing and preventing damage done to your skin tissue. Antioxidants slow down or even prevent oxidation that's caused by free radicals. Oxidation is a process that causes damage from oxygen, possibly leading to cell dysfunction. A good example of this process is when you cut an apple in half and watch it for a couple minutes. You'll see the apple turning brown on the inside. That's oxidation! Now I'm not saying that if you don't eat enough antioxidants your skin will turn brown and mushy, but still, it's best to get some in your system every now and then!

Also, these antioxidant-rich fruits help to protect your skin against damage done by the sun. Especially tomatoes are good for this. It protects your skin against the sun from the inside out, guarding your cells from damage. Amazing, right?

The antioxidant vitamins also encourage cell and skin-tissue growth, basically supporting your body in repairing itself. And since they encourage cell growth they're also a good way to minimize wrinkles and lines!

Now I'm sure after reading all this you feel like stuffing yourself with strawberries and other delicious fruits, but please be aware of the following facts! Even though antioxidants are naturally good for you, too much is never good, and if you over do it it can cause you to get a headache or do other damage, so please be careful!

Take care and stay healthy,

May.

Monthly Subject, Weekly Skintype! [MSWS]

Hello lovelies~

So I've been thinking a lot lately about weekly and monthly things for me to blog about, and here's what I came up with;

A monthly subject, with weekly blogs for different skin types! I already came up with a couple subjects, like the obvious ones makeup and skincare, but also separate subjects for the seasons and maybe different climates. I will also take requests, so if there's any subject you'd like more specific advise and details on focused on your skin type, please let me know!

Here's some information about the different skin types that I will be talking about.

1. Oily Skin.

The most noticeable thing about oily skin is that it's usually shiny. There are a couple reasons why your skin can be oily. The most common ones are through genetics, or through stress/hormones. Oily skin is not something you can "cure". However, you can control and manage it to make it less oily. I will try giving you some tips on how to keep the oil in your skin, the sebum, under control!

2. Dry Skin.

Dry skin is something that most people have experienced. If not constantly, maybe in the winter. This is because warmth from for example a hot shower, the heating in a house or a furnace can take the moist from your skin, making it dry. The key to handling a dry skin isn't adding moist, it's to actually keep the moist in your skin! I will try and help you treat your skin in the best possible way!

3. Mixed Skin.

A mixed skin is dry skin combined with oily skin. The oily parts are usually the T-zone; the nose and forehead. Mixed skin needs special treatment, because you need to take care of both the oily and the dry parts with different skincare routines. I will talk you through these different routines to hopefully help you out!

4. Sensitive Skin.

Sensitive skin needs the most specific care and treatment and special products. There are many things that the sensitive skin can't take, or things that'll make it irritated. I'll try my best to find the best products and treatments for this type of skin to help you take care of your skin and hopefully make it less itchy/red/irritated!

Of course, there are other combinations possible, but for those I recommend you to read both posts that fit your skin type. Please look forward to these series, I will post the first part in April!

30 makeup-related questions (tag)

Hey there lovelies~ I'm doing the 30 days makeup challenge! Well... Sort of. Because I know that I am bad at daily posts, I will just do the entire challenge in one post! ^^''

1. When did you start putting on makeup?

I used to wear stage makeup and bright colored eyeshadow for the dance-performances I used to do, but the first time I actually put on makeup was for a talent show, in which I danced with my friend. I was in my seventh year of primary school and my friend already put on makeup everyday, but I'd never used it. I was so amazed of what mascara and eyeliner did to my eyes, I was more excited about the makeup than the actual performance, haha!

2. How did you learn to put on makeup?

That same friend kind of showed me how to do it, but I never did wear makeup until high school. I used to apply a little lip color for my last year of primary school, but as I walked to school I felt embarrassed for wearing it and I'd rub it off again. In first year of high school I got in touch with the gothic-sub culture and I switched from no makeup at all to heavy dark eye makeup. I watched lots of youtube tutorials, and I even recorded some myself, but I never uploaded them because I was too shy.

3. Favorite Brand?

I love Essence and Catrice, and I'm dying to try Etude house makeup!

4. Do you like wearing foundation? If so, what’s your color and favorite?

Nowadays I prefer BB cream over foundation because it's better for my skin and it blends very well. I always get the lightest color because my skin is really light except for my cheeks, which are pink all the time, so I like to even the pink out a little with a light BB cream and powder.

5. Favorite lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner?

The lip products I currently wear for my daily makeup are NYC's lip stain, number 494 (which is a dark pinkish tint,) a clear lipgloss by essence and a dark pink lipgloss by Catrice that matches the lip stain.

6. Do you like/wear false lashes? If yes, strip or individual?

Sometimes, yes! I use strips, because I think individuals would take forever to put on. (But maybe I'm wrong? I never used them before!)

7. Favorite eye shadow color?

A shimmery color that's close to my natural skin-tone, or a nude baby pink.

8. What’s your favorite daytime look?

barely-there eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner and mascara (top lashes only), and pink-gradient lips.

9. Picture of your makeup collection:

(will post this soon, it's too dark to take a good picture right now!)

10. Favorite makeup brush?

A simple flat-square shaped fluffy one, which I use to apply my eyeshadow with.

11. Do you like wearing bronzer?

No! Absolutely not, I think I look horrible with a tan. I prefer to use the lightest powder available!

12. Favorite mascara?

Glamour Doll volume mascara by Catrice, though I'm currently using Maximum length volume mascara by Essence!

13. Where do you keep your makeup?

I have a couple boxes and small drawers where I keep the makeup I use often, and two bags for the music I barely use but can't throw away. You know, the "One day I might need this for a certain event and I will regret it then if I throw this away right now" problem.

14. Favorite Youtube guru(s)?

I think Bubzbeauty's video's are very inspiring.  Also I like to watch Dakota Rose's videos, but mainly because of her cute outfits, haha!

15. Do you wear blush?

Sometimes, yes.

16. Do you copy any of the celebrity’s makeup?

Right now, not really. But when I was in high school I liked to copy Avril Lavigne's makeup, and also the yellow-orange-red look Hayley Williams rocked in the Misery Business (Paramore) music video!

17. Favorite makeup artist?

I don't really have one!

18. What’s your favorite night time look?

I basically wear the same makeup, but sometimes I'll go for a more smokey look with shimmery silver and black, depending on the event.

19. Favorite concealer?

Pure active roller by Garnier and a concealer stick by Catrice.

20. Favorite eyeshadow primer?

I don't really have a favorite ^^''

21. Where do you buy your makeup at?

Local Dutch stores. (Kruidvat, Hema, DA and Etos.)

22. Favorite toner?

None!

23. Favorite eye shadow palette and blush palette?

A four tone small palette with a shimmery shadow that's close to my skin tone, one that's lighter, a shimmery brown and a matte brown. As for the blush, I use a simple soft pink tone. Both are from Essence.

24. Which do you like: cream, matte, powder, sheer, or shimmer eye shadows?

I like shimmer eye shadows!

25. Favorite eyeliner?

A coal pencil that's available at the weekly market in my city only, but I barely wear eyeliner.

26. Do you wear makeup everyday?

Yes, except for when I'm sick or when I have a day off and I stay home all day.

27. Favorite powder?

True Mineral loose powder, the lightest, from 'Hema'

28. Favorite makeup remover?

Loreal Paris Triple active pro comfort tonic.

29. Do you like wearing liquid liner? (if so, what’s your favorite)

Yes I do! And I like to use any liner with a thin brush. My experience with pencil-liquid liners and with cream liners isn't really good.

30. Picture of yourself with and without wearing makeup?

New blog~

Hello everyone! May here~

I've decided to start blogging again. For no reason, actually. Just because I can, and because I feel like it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this blog just yet, but for now I guess lots of street fashion that inspires me, maybe some art, some music... Yeah. Let's see if I'll be able to update weekly, shall we? \(•^o^•)/
