Pearl cat-ear headband DIY

Okay, so maybe I'm a bit late with this trend, but still I think it's cute enough to make a post for it even though it's been around for a while now. Maybe you've seen this before... Maybe not. The animal-eared headbands, and the cat ones in particular!

I think it looks really cute and I'm really happy to see both kpop idols as well as western pop singers sharing a trend! I got a pair of adorable pearl-bear ears, but I really wanted a pair of cat ears as well. But because I couldn't find it where I live, and I'm not patient enough to wait for it to arrive when I buy it online, I decided to make some myself! And it's actually really really easy!

Here's what you'll be needing to make your own pair of cute cat ears!
A plain headband
Some pearl-beads
Wire that's strong enough to hold the beads and thin enough to fit through them
Strong glue
Pliers (One to cut, one to bend and one to pinch!)

Step one. You're going to cut off some wire. Don't take too little, you can always take some off again if you're not satisfied. Then, take another section that's about the same length as the first one.

Step two. Using a round edged plier, bend the middle of your pieces of wire to create a corner. You can make this as sharp as you want to depending on what you think looks the best. Then, bend the left and the right side of the corner you made to create the triangle shapes of the cat-ears.

Step three. Use the pearl beads, or any decoration you want to use to cover up the wire. Some cat ear headbands only have a couple of pearls, but I decided to cover the entire ear's outline in pearls and since I used beads, it was very easy. However, if you don't want to use as many pearls, you can just use some glue to stick the decorations to the ears.

Step four. Secure the ears onto the headband. I tried using some wire to tie them on there first, but that didn't work out for me because I'm not strong enough to pinch the wire tightly enough to keep them in place. Instead I used some ribbon, glued it to the headband and then tied it around the wire to keep the ears in place. If you're using this method, make sure to wrap it tightly, otherwise your ears are going to flap forward when you wear them.

And there you go! Your very own home-made cat ear headband! Please feel free to leave a comment or a request right here, or on my Facebook page! Also I'd love to see your creations, so don't be shy and send me a picture if you decide to make one of your own~  Thanks for stopping by at my blog! Have fun making your headband and take care!

Skintype interview: Normal Skin. [With Momo from Momo's Moment!]

First name: Momo
Age: 20 (about to be 21 in September!)
Race: African American (Black)
Country: USA

Check out her website for various beauty and review posts!

1. How old were you when you started to use makeup frequently? What did you put on?

When I started frequently using makeup I think I was 18 or 19 because I remember I wanted to learn how to do it before I turned 20 and wanted to look more my age. I put on eyeliner, mascara and a light foundation.

2. What does your daily makeup consist of nowadays?

Now I usually wear a BB Cream, Mascara and Eyeshadow that goes with what I’m wearing that day, nothing too loud.

3. What do you do to take care of your skin?

I wash it in the morning and at night with a genital face wash, once a week I’ll use a clay mask for my pores and when I need it I’ll use a facial treatment for acne.

4. Do you use special products for your skin type?

I have Normal type skin so I don’t really need anything special to take care of it; I just keep it clean and make sure I don’t do anything that’s bad for my skin.

5. Are there any troubles that your skin type gives you and other skin types might not experience?

My skin doesn’t really give me problems unless it’s that time of the month or I’ve been eating really unhealthy food, so I guess it depends on what I’ve been eating but the only thing I worry about is acne even though I don’t get a lot of it.

6. If yes, do you do anything about those problems?

I use products for acne prone skin and try to eat better foods.

7. Do you have tips for other people who have your skin type?

If you have Normal type skin then I guess other people would say that you’re lucky but I’d just watch what you eat and make sure you use the right products to help you with whatever you’re worried about with your skin. Also BB Creams work WAY better for people with Normal type skin, so please try them first before wasting all your money on foundation like I did trying to find one that worked!

8. Is there something you would change about your skin?

If I could keep it from getting wrinkles and aging that would be great! But I’m actually happy with my skin and accept all the different parts of me.

9. Are there certain makeup products you can not use because of your skin type? Which ones?

I can’t use heavy makeup products, most things work for me but when I use something that’s supposed to give you full coverage etc. it just feels like it’s too much for my skin since it doesn’t need a lot to cover up in the first place. So I usually stick to light or medium coverage type products and I’ll be fine.

10. Is there something about your skin that troubles you, but you haven't found a solution yet?

Just aging, but that’s natural.

Maple Lens - EOS lenses Review! [New Adult VS Ice]

As most of you probably know, my circle lenses arrived this week! And today I found the time to record a review and a voice over. I was determined that I'd never talk in my videos but it was requested and recommended so I gave it a try!                                                                                                                                                                    I got my lenses at Maple Lense, a website that sells many different circle lenses for a price that I've never seen anywhere before. I got my first pair of circle lenses at an anime convention last year. They were €40,- which is ridiculous compared to the prices (and quality!) that maple lens offer. Both pairs I got were only €14,- , shipping was €5,-  and I got adorable lens cases to keep them in, so I was very pleased with that! I got the bear shaped boxes in blue, and the fish ones in a lighter shade of blue. Very very cute! My natural eye color is blue with grey, so I decided to get lenses in my natural colors to match them. You can check out my review video on my youtube channel. The link is in the top bar of my blog!

The first pair I got is from EOS. It's from the 'New Adult' series in grey. The lenses are 14,8 mm and you can see the difference it makes!  Because I was going for a natural look, I was a little sad to find out that the black line around the lens is really harsh and dark. However, wearing the lenses inside-out fixed this problem as the black is more of a darker grey on the other side!
                                                                             no lens - lens

These lenses don't really allow me to achieve the natural look that I wanted, but I still really like them. I've been thinking of getting a dark wig, and I'm pretty sure that the grey lenses will look really great with a darker hairstyle! If I do get a wig, I will post another picture to show you all what it looks like then!

The second pair is also from EOS, and it's also 14,8 mm. It's from the 'Ice' series, in blue. I absolutely adore these lenses. They blend really well with my natural eyes and they really do make my eyes look bigger and more doll-like. I will definitely wear these a lot!
                                                                                lens - no lens.

Because the 'Ice' series only have color on the edge of the lenses, they tend to blend a lot better than the 'New Adult' ones. I think I will order more colors from EOS - Ice in the future, because these lenses are my definitely my favorites!

For people who want to extend their natural eye color, I recommend the 'Ice' series, because they blend really well and look a lot more natural than the 'New Adult' ones. However, if you want to get a color that's completely different from your natural color, I recommend to get full-colored ones like 'New Adult', because not only do they extend the eyes, they also cover up your natural color! If I ever want to have brown eyes, I wil definitely get 'New Adult' ones, but otherwise I'll stick to 'Ice'!

Primark Haul May 2013

Hello everyone~

Finally after a very long time I went to Primark again. For me, it's not really easy to go there since it's on the other side of the country, so I really have to plan it like a trip, and I'll spend half the day traveling. But it was totally worth it once again!

In this video I'm showing you all the items I got , and I will use my blog to share some information and opinions on each item.

1. Black-gold necklace. €5,-

I really really love this necklace a lot! But right after I took it out of the shopping bag, I had trouble with it. The golden pins fall off really easily so every time I put it in a bag, when I take it out again it's missing a pin. Luckily it's easy to put it back on but I'm worried that I might lose one when I'm wearing it without noticing it. But apart from that it's a really pretty necklace!

2. Earrings and rings set. €3,-

I like the rings a lot! Even though they will probably turn my fingers green if I wear them too long, I'll still wear them. The rings with the little bow and the one with the rose are my favorites!

3. Blonde bobby pins. €1,50

I've been looking for bobby pins that match my hair color forever! I was so happy when I found them again that I bought two packages because somehow, bobby pins master a skill called teleportation and turning invisible. I always lose them no matter where I put them!

4. Brown sunglasses. €3,-

I always wear black ones and I decided to try brown sunglasses now, because my friend said it would look good haha! I'll take them with me on my trip to Turkey so I will wear them then and maybe take a selca!

5. Black over knee socks with golden stone details. €1,-

I always wear black over knees and I thought the stones would give a nice change to that. Sadly the Primark over knees really only reach a tiny bit over your knee. I like it when my over knees reach higher up my thighs, because I think it looks better that way. But I got them anyway!

6. 200 denier tights. €4,-

I love love love love LOVE Primark's thick tights. They are absolutely amazing for cold days. I like to wear skirts at any time of the year and these tights make it a lot easier for me to keep myself from freezing to death. I honestly believe that they are warmer than jeans are and if it's a really really cold day sometimes I wear two pairs over each other for extra warmth. Great item, so I got two!

7. Fashion tights with card-game print. €3,-

Recently I really got into 'Alice; Madness returns' and when I saw these tights I just couldn't resist! When I wear these, I will make sure to post a picture to show you guys how it looks!

8. sun hat. €5,-

I've been looking for a hat like this for a long time now, and I found it before but I'm not sure if hats look good on me so I never bought it. This time however I decided to give it a try! The material is really thin though so I'm afraid it'll be damaged easily.

9. rosy pink stone necklace. €3,-

I usually don't wear gold but I figured I could give it a try, so I bought this necklace. I really love the stone that's on it, it's really pretty. They also had a ring with it but it was one size and of course, it didn't fit me. So I got the necklace instead!

10. black/dark purple sunglasses. €3,-

I like to have different pairs of sunglasses so I can mix and match with different outfits. That's why I also got a darker one! I like it a lot, I think I'll wear this one for most of the sunny days we get where I live.

11. Black bikini top with studs. €5,-

I saw this top online and I just had to have it. I think the studs are a really nice change for me because I always wear plain tops without print or anything. I will pair these with a black hipster bikini bottom.

12. White baby clothes. €8,-

Carrying around this adorable baby girl two-piece, many people gave me weird looks. But it's only a present! A friend and coworker of mine recently got a daughter and I wanted to surprise him and his fiancé with something nice for their newborn baby.

13. Light blue shorts with round studs. €13,-

I really like the color of these shorts. It's light blue, but it has some sort of a light purple glow to it and it's just really pretty! I'm sure it'll show up in one of my outfit posts soon!

14. Red shorts. €11,-

Just a pair of shorts I can add to my basic shorts collection. The fabric is really nice and soft and I really like it!

15. White flower pattern high waist shorts. €11,-

I've been looking for a pair of white lace shorts, and even though this isn't really lace, I still like these a lot! The flower pattern is really cute.

16. Male XL white blouse. €5,- (it said €11,- on the ticket but that's the price I paid. Oh well.)

I got this blouse for a cosplay I'll be wearing to this years abunai con. I don't think I'll be wearing it for anything other than cosplay but who knows! It fits me like a dress, haha!

17. White tank top with cross and spikes €10,-

Really pretty, I like it a lot! I'm sure I'll be wearing this a lot, too! It has spikes on the shoulders and pretty colored stones on and around the cross.

18. Gangnam style shirt. (male) €9,-

I always like to look around a bit in the male clothes section to find some shirts with cool prints. I always get them in a bigger size than I usually would and then I restyle them into a tank top. That's exactly what I'll be doing to this shirt! I was really surprised to find it at primark. The label actually says YG entertainment!

19. Black sandals with studs. €13,-

Really nice, I hope they will last for a long time because I like them a lot and I'm going to walk a lot on these on my trip to Turkey, I'm sure!

20. soft rosy-pink wedge heel sandals. €18,-

I always buy black heels, no matter what type. But I really wanted to add different colors to my heel collection, starting off with these ones. I really really like them but when I got home I saw the color had already been damaged a little. It doesn't really bother me though, I'll wear them anyway. But be sure to check the fabric of the straps for any scratches before you get these!

21. soft rosy-pink wallet with gold detail. €6,-

I think long wallets are really pretty and I've been looking for one that I like for quite some time now. But I don't want to spend a lot of money on a wallet, I don't know why. I really like this one and I started using it right away, as you can see! And I'm showing you the 2 cents coin to point out the fact that I am now completely broke. Primark is a great place to get cute cheap clothes and what not, but I always end up spending a lot of money there!
